Mente ("we", "us", "our") is an AI-powered personal knowledge management service operated by Mente. This privacy policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.
Account Information
When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, and profile photo through our authentication provider (Clerk). If you sign in with Google, we receive basic profile information from your Google account.
Saved Content
Mente stores the URLs you save, along with the extracted text content, AI-generated summaries, categories, key concepts, and metadata (title, author, publication date). This includes content saved through:

Any notes you write and todos you create within Mente are stored in our database, along with their AI-generated summaries and connections.
Usage Data
We use Google Analytics to collect anonymous usage data such as page views, feature usage, and general traffic patterns. This helps us understand how people use the product and improve it.

Your content is sent to OpenAI's API for processing. OpenAI's API data usage policy states that data sent through the API is not used to train their models. We use the API solely to provide Mente's features to you.
Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Railway (cloud infrastructure). We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), secure authentication through Clerk, and access controls to protect your data.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. Mente is a paid product. Our business model is subscriptions, not ads or data monetization.
