Mente is Now on the Chrome Web Store
The Mente Chrome extension is live. You can install it right now and start saving pages to your knowledge base with one click.
No copying URLs. No switching tabs. No pasting into a text field. Click the icon, the page gets saved, and AI takes it from there.

What It Does
You're reading something interesting. Could be an article, a blog post, a tweet, a product page, a research paper, documentation, anything with a URL. You click the Mente icon in your browser toolbar. Done.
That's the whole interaction. One click.
Behind the scenes, Mente grabs the page URL and sends it to your account. The AI pipeline kicks in immediately. Within about 30 seconds, you have a summary, categories, key concepts, connections to your other saved content, and auto-generated todos if the content is actionable.
You don't need to title anything. You don't need to choose a folder. You don't need to tag it. The system handles all of that.
Why This Matters More Than You Think
Here's the thing about saving content: friction kills the habit.
Every extra step between "this is interesting" and "this is saved" is a chance for you to decide it's not worth it. You find a great article. You think "I should save this." Then you'd have to open Mente, paste the URL, wait for it to load. Three steps that take 15 seconds, but feel like enough to make you think "I'll just remember it" (you won't).
A browser extension reduces that to zero thought. The icon is always there. You click it. You go back to reading. The save happens in the background while you've already moved on to the next thing.
The people who get the most out of a knowledge base are the ones who save consistently. And consistent saving only happens when saving is effortless. That's what the extension is for.

What Happens After You Save
This is where Mente is different from a regular bookmarking tool. Saving is just the trigger. Here's what the AI pipeline does with every page you save:
Summary. AI reads the full content and writes a 3-5 sentence summary that captures the main argument and key takeaways. You can scan 20 summaries in the time it takes to read one full article.
Categories. The page gets automatically categorized based on what it's about. No manual sorting. No choosing folders. Categories emerge from your actual content.
Key concepts. AI extracts the intellectual ideas at the heart of the content. Not keywords. Concepts. Things like "loss aversion," "network effects," or "spaced repetition." These become nodes in your knowledge graph.
Connections. Every new save gets compared against everything else in your knowledge base. If that article about sleep science shares concepts with your notes on productivity, the connection appears automatically. You don't draw it. The system finds it.
Auto-generated todos. If the content is actionable, AI creates 1-3 todos in your Backlog. Save a how-to article about improving your morning routine and "Wake up 30 minutes earlier for deep work" shows up in your task list. Save a news article with no action items? Nothing gets created. The filter is accurate.
All of this happens in about 30 seconds. By the time you check your Mente dashboard, the page is fully processed.
Five Ways to Save to Mente
The Chrome extension is the newest addition to a set of save methods that cover pretty much every workflow:
Chrome extension. One click while browsing. The fastest option for desktop users.
Cmd+K in the app. Open the command bar, paste a URL. Good when you're already inside Mente.
Telegram bot. Send a link to @getmente_bot. Perfect for mobile saving or when someone shares something in a chat.
MCP server. Tell Claude or Cursor to save a link. Your AI assistant does the saving for you.
REST API. POST /api/v1/items with a URL. For custom integrations or automation.
Pick whatever fits the moment. They all feed into the same AI pipeline.
